Don’t Forget: Children’s Home Vision Debuts Next Wednesday

After months of work by city staff, a consultant design team, and thousands of neighbors who brought ideas and opinions to the table, it’s time for the big reveal — a unified plan incorporating the uses, spaces, and features most commonly requested for the 77 acre property formerly serving as the United Methodist Children’s Home.

Join us Wednesday, June 27, 6-8pm at the Ebster Gym for your first-hand look at the results. Everyone’s welcome.

Participants will receive a short presentation of the combined concept plan, including the various factors — community feedback results, anticipated costs, stakeholder meetings, etc. — that informed its development.

Then, following the presentation, there’ll be break out activities where city staff and consultants will be on hand to answer questions and gather feedback. These will include: helping the City prioritize the things to focus on first, collecting ideas for the naming of the property, and helping the team further identify partners and organizations that can assist with implementing long-term goals of the unified plan.

See you there!

Can we see a summary of what was presented for those of us that weren’t able to attend? Thanks.

  2. Exciting to see the progress. One general comment about data collection on who participanted in the survey. The “Ashwood, Katie Kerr, etc. neighborhoods probably could be grouped given combined the comments of these neighborhoods (who are similar in location) represent around the 4th largest group to provide online input. We are heavily impacted (positively it seems) by having the park literally across the street. Thanks.
